Corrie Ananda
Lead Mysore teacher
Corrie was Authorised (Level 2) to teach Ashtanga yoga by Sharath Jois in 2014; she holds an MA in the Traditions of Yoga and Meditation (SOAS) and brings over 25 years of personal practice to her teaching. Corrie has completed the primary, intermediate and advanced A ashtanga yoga sequences, she is working through the latter part of the advanced B sequence. Corrie compliments her teaching with a training and certificate in functional mobility (FRCmbs), and an ongoing ‘wonder’ at the interaction between the mind, body, and emotions. Additionally Corrie is a registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor (MBACP), and is currently writing her doctoral thesis on 'The Meaning of Movement' (DProf, Middlesex University).
Amit Singh
Teaching Assistant Pranayama teacher
Amit first discovered Ashtanga yoga in 2008 and travelled to Mysore, India, in 2011 to begin studying at the KPJAYI Ashtanga Yoga Institute. He has returned for seven seasons since and received Authorization from the late Sharath Jois in 2017. Since 2021, his studies have focused on Pranayama and Yoga Sangraha under Eddie Stern and Robert Moses, while also continuing his daily practice of the Advanced A Series of Ashtanga yoga with Corrie.
Patricia Fiorentino
Teaching Assistant
The structure and precision of the ashtanga yoga method, and the musicality of the breath count, instantly resonated with Patricia whose background is in ballet. With a keen eye for alignment and technique, Patricia aims to tune in to each student's specificities, listening to their bodies, frame of mind and energy, to assist them accordingly.
Nino Russo
Teaching Assistant
Nino has been assisting Corrie since 2022. Nino is extremely dedicated to both the practice and the act of seva (service) toward our Mysore community. Alongside his love for Ashtanga yoga, Nino also enjoys practising and teaching other styles of vinyasa yoga.
Michelle
Teaching Assistant
Michelle started Ashtanga yoga alongside her PhD, and fell in love with the self-paced, reflective nature of the practice. As an assistant, she is honoured to share this tradition and support our community in their practice.
Lauren Nicholl
Teaching Assistant
Lauren first stepped into a Mysore room in early 2020 and is profoundly grateful that she did. She loves the practice for its stillness, its simplicity, the opportunity it affords to connect to our breath and just be, as well as the increased happiness it brings to life. Lauren made her first trip to study in Mysore in 2024.
